Private Study
Teaching is an important part of my artistic practice and is something that I truly love to do.
I have taught private saxophone and guitar lessons in New York City for more than 15 years and have led workshops and masterclasses as a visiting artist at colleges and universities in the USA and abroad.
I am currently an adjunct professor in the innovative Performance and Interactive Media Arts [PIMA] MFA program at Brooklyn College. PIMA is an interdisciplinary performance art program with an emphasis on collaboration and the use of interactive technology in performance.
I offer in-person or online lessons.

Extended saxophone techniques
Expanded conceptions of the saxophone
Studying the saxophone also involves building foundational musical skills.

Performance and audition preparation
IMPROVISATION AND COMPOSITION
I work with musicians who play any instrument who are interested in:
Exploring and developing your practice of improvisation
Developing your voice as a composer
Composing for the saxophone
Working collaboratively across artistic disciplines
GUITAR
I took up the guitar about ten years ago as an adult already with years of experience as a saxophonist. I am continually fascinated by the many ways that it changed the way that I think about music and even about how I approach the saxophone. I strongly recommend that musicians who have a singular musical focus should at some point take up a second instrument as a means to expand their conception of their primary instrument. I offer guitar lessons to students of all ages; especially those learning guitar as a second instrument. We can work on areas such as the following.
Developing proper technique
Tone production
Left and right hand coordination
Rhythm
Scales and chords
Music theory
Guitar applied to different musical genres and different functions in an ensemble
Selection and use of guitar pedals and effects
